Louis XVI Painted & Gilded Barrel Back Bergere Chair - 34W 31D 38.5H

A Louis XVI barrel-back bergere, painted and gilded, 34 inches wide by 31 deep by 38.5 high. The barrel back — enveloping, architecturally resolved — is the definitive bergere form; the Louis XVI painted and gilded finish is its appropriate register. A chair of uncommon presence and considerable comfort.
