We want anyone who wishes to shop with us to be able to, and we would rather be told when this site gets in your way than have you quietly give up on it.
What we are working toward
We are working to bring cayenhome.com into line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the standard most widely used for making websites usable by people with disabilities, including those who use screen readers, magnification, keyboard navigation or voice control.
We are not claiming that we fully meet that standard today. We would rather tell you honestly where we are than put a badge on the page. This is an ongoing effort, and we review the site as we make changes to it.
What we have done so far
We are working through the site with these things in mind: descriptive text on product photographs, headings that follow a sensible order, text that can be resized, colour and contrast that stay legible, and pages that can be navigated by keyboard. Parts of the site use software made by other companies — our search, our chat window, our checkout — and we do not control their code, though we do raise problems with them when we find them.
If something here does not work for you, please tell us
This is the part that matters most. If you meet a barrier on this site — a photograph without a description, something you cannot reach with a keyboard, text you cannot read, a form you cannot complete — we want to know, and we will fix it.

It helps if you can tell us the page you were on and what you were trying to do, but please do not let that stop you from writing. Tell us however is easiest.
We will shop with you
We are a small salon in Carmel and we sell by conversation more than by cart. Anything you can do on this site, you can do with one of us on the telephone — and rather more, in truth.
Call us and we will describe a piece to you properly: its scale in a room, the weight of it, how a stone reads in the light, the marks age has left on it. We will film a piece and send you the video. We will take measurements for you, check whether something will come through your door, place your order, arrange delivery, and stay with it until it reaches you. There is no charge for any of this and it is not a lesser way to buy from us. It is how most of our clients buy from us already.
Our showroom
Our salon is at The Ivy Courtyard, 6th Avenue and Mission Street, Carmel-by-the-Sea. If you are planning a visit and would like to know about access, parking or the layout before you come, please call us on (831) 626-2722 and we will tell you honestly what to expect and help you plan around it.

We review this statement as the site changes, and we update it when what it says stops being true. If you think it overstates where we are, tell us that too.
